The Canary Islands dragon tree is an endangered species of the asparagus family. This nature drawing shows the plant with a very special growth, which makes it look degenerated and vulnerable.
I used the negative coloring to achieve an intense contrast and emphasize the shapes and structures of the plant. The drawing has a calming, delicate and strong effect at the same time.
