Original artwork description:

Another picture in my series inspired by African cultures, particularly the sculptures and masks of West and Central Africa. I am exploring the melding of the ancient with the contemporary. Time is of no importance when giving attention to the eternal. The age of mythology may be long gone, but the truths that they pointed to are more relevant, more urgent, than ever. This character has something of the surf dude about him and is also more to do with my personal mythology than that of the past. He has power and charisma, wisdom and panache and is clearly a complete maverick.
