Artwork description:
Down by the riverside is a famous Negro peace song going back to the American Civil War. A line in the song runs “ain't gonna study war no more”. As a boy I'd sometimes escape the hubbub of school and go down to the river where I didn't study anything. I was only pursuing peace.
This is an original relief print pulled from engravings cut in rubber. The complete edition is 7 prints only. The sheet is 10½ x 15 inches (263x381mm) and the image is 6½ x 9½ inches (165x241mm). I can trim the sheet to a particular size if you would like. Please feel free to contact me to put a question or make a remark.
