Original artwork description:

I spotted these two seemingly lovely old dears at an Uplands Market stall one Saturday and thought they looked sweet.
On closer inspection I found they were were like a double act, interrogating the stallholder for a better deal on some goods, haggling in tandem for a better price.
I loved their facial expressions, so intense and intent on getting a good price.
They had both seen and heard it all before and weren't going to be easily swayed from their bargain buying quest.
We sometimes look at elderly people and don't really see them. Rather we impose a fuzzy idea of who they are on them instead. Sometimes older people, especially women, become semi invisible
These two were real characters, alive and vital and this is what I tried to express.
