Original artwork description:

Painted on-site in the artist's garden in Minneapolis. Features a close-up view of "Mandarin Lights" Azalea and "Nova Zembla" Rhododendron blossoms. The flowers are painted in oil on board. Spattering and dripping effects in the background are created with water-based casein paint and finished with oil glaze. This effect is created through a three-step process of painting the flowers, masking the flowers, painting the background, and then unmasking the flowers for the final glaze. Florescent oil paint is used to emulate the brilliant colors of the natural flowers. Framed in a 3.5" wide wood framed with a black finish and gold inner edge. Total framed dimensions are 18.5 x 22.5".
