Abstract painting of Dopamine molecules inspired by australian aboriginal art
Dopamine molecular formula is C8H11NO2. Dopamine is a neuro-transmitter related to reward based behaviour, and motor control as well as controlling the release of other hormones. Disfunction of the dopamine system can lead to conditions such as Parkinsons Disease, schizophrenia and ADHD
I find that aboriginal art reminds me of cell and molecular structures - the 6 black rings represent a benzene ring of 6 carbon atoms. The red circles are Oxygen atoms and blue are Nitrogen
Signed on the side, with a drawing of the molecular structure on the back of the canvas
