To say I'm into the TV show Twin Peaks would be an understatement. I remember hearing about the show when it first came out in 1990 when I was really young. I've since watched the whole thing and all of the director David Lynch's other works. I love it all, and now the new series of Twin Peaks is finally airing 27 years after the original, I decided to try to create a tribute without straying too far from my pop art food style.
I came up with this as the main character in the show, FBI agent Dale Cooper, famously loves coffee and donuts. The background is taken from a Lynch motif, the striped floor of the black lodge used in the supernatural sections of the show.
Of course, it also works as piece of graphic food art in it's own right so you don't have to be a fan of the show to appreciate this piece, and it fits in with the rest of my usual pop art food paintings.
It was painted using my usual graphic style, the black outlines and the stripes of the floor have been added by Posca paint pens.
PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in an A4 frame for display purposes. So the third image better shows what you'd be getting. It's also signed on the back for authentication.
It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pens on thick A4 acrylic paper.

8.3 inches x 11.7 inches

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
