Original artwork description:

A powerful representation of resilience, 'Don't Give Up' shows two female figures intertwined featuring a heart surrounded in butterfly wings symbolising the delicate balance between fragility and strength.

The Story:
This piece was inspired by my personal journey of navigating life's challenges with loss and health struggles and finding the strength to persevere. The heart with gold crack marks inspired by the Kintsugi technique of repairing broken pieces with gold, symbolizing how even the most fragile parts of us can hold beauty and strength when embraced. The butterfly wings surrounding the heart are a recurring symbol in my work, representing loved ones passed.

The message ‘Don’t Give Up’ is subtly woven into the background, serving as an encouraging reminder to find strength from within to keep going through the tough days. This painting reflects not only my personal experiences but also the universal struggles we all face, inviting viewers to find their own story within the layers.

Materials used:

Oil paint, acrylic paint and gold paint.
