‘DOGS IN THE GARDEN’ is an acrylic painting 28x20 cms on 300gms canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35x28cms. It is a painting that functions in an almost metaphorical way working with association, memory rather than resemblance. The brush marks and colours evoke the presence of two dogs (greyhounds) lying in the sun in a summer garden overlooked by the studio. The colours relate to the environment. A fully blossomed lavatera, foxgloves, lupins , roses and clematis feature as splashes of gestural marks. The painting’s subject relates the physical and psychological involvement of living presence. The painting can be bought in a white glazed frame if preferred with additional shipping costs.
