Original artwork description:

This is a larger than life portrait of a hunting dog. It is the fourth painting in the series "Doggedly".

I was commissioned to do a portrait of a little girl and while I was getting to know her I met her dog and immediately decided that I would also do a portrait of her beautiful pet.

It took long while to get around to finally painting the dog whose name I have long forgotten. But I never forgot the adoring expression on the dog face as he gazed lovingly at his owner.

I think every dog owner knows this expression. Focused, attentive, 'eyes for only one person' although if someone else is holding a treat the focus can easily shift.
