Original artwork description:

Dog Comb is a play on words. 'Dog Comb' is like a honeycomb but it is full of dogs instead of honey. They are all pictured on different types of grass as dogs love being outside best- sniffing and running around. Some of the grass is short, dry and stubbly, some green and lush, some long , some sprinkled with daisies or dandelions. The dogs are in different attitudes and are of different breeds and with their distinct personalities. There is an adorable Pug, a friendly American Cocker Spaniel, an obedient Staffordshire terrier, an expectant Jack Russell just about to leap up, a bouncy and inquisitive Beagle cross, a happy Mongrel and a reflective King Charles Spaniel in the centre. These are all dogs I have met and some I know really well like 'Tiny' my Sister's Jack Russell or 'Maya' the American Cocker Spaniel I walked. Some one said it is a Dog Mandala and I suppose it is -a mandala to contemplate the love of Dogs and all their hairy, wet nosed, gleaming eyes loveliness!

Materials used:

oil on 7 hexagonal canvases with a hexagonal frame
