This is the second in the series of wood engravings of the adventures of my dog, Portia, in the Adelaide Hills. She was hopeless at catching rabbits but she always gave them a run for their money. Rabbits are the most successful introduced animal in Australia. They have been culled many times throughout history, but they keep coming back in ever increasing numbers. This is one of a few remaining prints in the edition. It measures 7.5 x 3.5 cm, and two of the corners were broken off during the preparing of the block, which has to be sanded and polished until it is perfectly flat and as smooth as metal.
