The reduction in pollution levels during the Lockdown in the UK produced the most beautiful skies I have ever seen in an urban environment. This painting forms part of a series of skyscapes, or nocturnes, that I witnessed from my home. The part below the horizon in all of the paintings in the series is imagined, either a lake, landscape or, in this case, a seascape with distant beakers near the horizon.

The piece is painted with many layers of transparent blues creating a luminosity in the sky as the light is refracted within the many layers of paint. Depending on the light, the turquoise tones or the darker blues will become more dominant.

The piece is painted using exceptional quality Old Holland and Winsor and Newton Artists' series oil paints and mediums with the highest ratings of permanence and light-fastness. The painting is on professional quality medium grain canvas panel by Winsor and Newton and is signed on the reverse.

The painting will be packaged following best-practice guidelines and despatched by signed for and fully tracked and insured courier. The painting is signed on the reverse and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
