she thought she could hold on to her revelations and stay true to the bones
that planted her
but they were still volatile, unsure,
and could no long keep her rooted because inside the skin was a caterpillar
and those years who kept her deprived of herself, detached, dissociated
were scavengers of truth.

"Dissociation" was created from my exploration with bold collage on paper. The drawings were dismembered and made part of the composition along with hand tinted pieces of paper. Then they were strategically retouched with oils or pencils.
