The layering of thick opaque and thin transparent paint layers provide depth and beautiful textures with bright color spots peeking through the layers here and there.

The Discovery series are about the magic of the unexpected. While painting, I allow for accidental moves, marks and gestures to capture unexpected life into the work. I work with the unexpected until the magic begins to unfold under the surface, until the many layers of paint and marks create forms and energies that speak to the viewer.
