This plywood woodcut print brings together four African-Americans sitting together resolute in their determination to tell their story of slavery and their emancipation from it. The print has been created through the reduction printing method, of which only two prints were taken from the process, yet both prints are slightly different.
The cut sections imply the hidden segradation that runs throughout society, highlighting how the past continues to have an affect upon us today.
This one was pulled throughout the whole process of cutting. The print has been printed using an oil-based printing ink on cartridge paper, then once dried cut into sections, re-glued onto hgh quality black card and glued/ pressed onto recycled eco-card, giving it a more sturdy surface.
I am thinking of making a box frame for this print, in the meantime it is available to purchase as is.
Oil based printing ink on cartridge paper, black card, recycled eco-card.
