Artwork description:

A few years back we had a short stay in Nepal and did a day-trip to the ancient city of Bhaktapur, an UNESCO World Heritage Site near Kathmandu. One of the popular places to visit in Bhaktapur is the Pottery Square where, as the name suggests, there is a market selling pottery. One of the things I found more fascinating than the market itself was a kiln on the outskirts of the square where you could get to see the ceramics production. I also found there were heaps of discarded pottery in piles around the kiln and thought this was a quite a nice motif. It's funny how I only very recently remembered that I did a few captures "behind the scenes" as it were - not sure why, but whilst working on a very different assignment it just popped into my head and I had to delve into my archives to find the photos. This one is my favourite from these captures.
