Two glasses of wine, two items of clothing . . . a magenta coloured jacket hangs on the back of a chair in the shadows, and a diamond-patterned dress is backlit in the sash window. On the drop-leaf table, the wine glasses and a couple of small bowls.
Two people have left the scene, leaving clues; what has gone before, what is to come?
The sun is lowering in the sky, throwing shadows across the wooden floor.

This painting is framed with a simple black wooden moulding with the front edge picked out in silver. The overall size of the painting with frame is 77 x 57 x 4cm
