In many of my paintings, This one included, I try to capture a certain emotion: joy, sadness, hope, disappointment, etc. The emotion can be expressed in the facial appearance of the subject, the use of color (or lack of) and in the surroundings. In the final analysis, the emotion is up to the viewer, not the artist.
Of course “emotion” covers a lot of ground: love, hate terror, sadness, fear, contentment, and so on. The success of an emotionally themed painting depends upon how well the artist depicts the elements of the artwork so that the viewer interprets the emotion the way it is intended.
Determination is a one-of-a-kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on laminated artists’ mylar.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
All my work is done on Dura-Lar mylar artist film. It does not have to be stretched like canvas or watercolor paper. It is easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell. You can see these instructions at the “me at work” section of my shop. I include a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.
