Original artwork description:

One in a series of drawings based on Descartes' portrait. Each one is to some degree an improvisation, using an architect's pen which allows for no changes or erasures. If a slight exaggeration is made in one sense, it has to be balanced by a push or pull in another. Loosely based on Matisse's drawing style.

Materials used:

Indian ink on Canson cartridge paper
