Original artwork description:

Landscapes that contrast beauty with and ugly reminder of humanity are something I enjoy capturing. I still find beauty in these things, perhaps because of the comfort and familiarity of a man made object within the vastness of nature makes a person feel more at home. I wanted to break this scene down into somewhat simple parts that reveal themselves as a whole. The brushwork is evident and purposeful, the colors chosen carefully to give subtlety to the individual parts. It gives me a sense of calmness in contrast to somewhat violent job this object was created for.
