I really like a walk along the beach in the winter sun, and on a trip to The Hague (Den Haag) some years back we did a lot of walking along the beaches around the city that were easily accessible by bicycle, and also other ones further afield that we drove to. It was early April but it felt more wintry with high chilling winds - this made for very much deserted beaches and the beauty of the windswept sand covering any footprints and traces of activity. I really liked the look of this pile of beach furniture - you really get the feeling that it's "out of season" and it's been a while since anyone has been around looking after the place.
