Original artwork description:
This is a wire sculpture made from old metal wire out of our old barn in France. The wire was used to hang and dry tobacco plants on and has been up there in the roof for at least 100 years. The wire has a beautiful patina caused by simple rust.
I used a technique similar to willow weaving to create the cow's head.
I have mounted the cow's head onto a piece of solid oak, also from the original part of our old roof so at least from year 1892 when the barn was built.
The sculpture has a hole drilled in the back of the oak so that it can just be hung up on a nail or screw in any wall.
The dimensions of the piece of oak is 48cm x 22cm and the actual cows head is 47cm x 37cm including the ears.
This is a one of a kind sculpture and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
