This is the second of my paintings inspired by the way that many plants and animals use thorns to defend themselves from attack. I have layered the thorny stems quite densely so that they create an abstract pattern. This highlights the fact that when you look at thorns objectively, they create beautiful shapes and are part of the innate artistry of nature. It was created using watercolour paint, pen and wax crayon. If you have any questions for me about this painting please click the 'Contact Jacqueline Talbot' button.
