Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by the hymn, “O, the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus,” which was composed by Samuel Trevor Francis, an English preacher, who used the vastness of the ocean as a metaphor for the infinite depth of God’s love for us. I have expressed this imagery in a collage of watercolor pieces, along with the song lyrics, which were mounted on canvas. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection, and hanging hardware is already installed.
