I've always loved the color of a cyanotype print. As a trained photographer I created these sun-exposed prints in college and now many years later I have revisited the technique. The deep cyan color is the result I envisioned as the final painting. I also wanted to add a complimentary bright orange to create interest. Other materials used in this piece are tape, maps, acrylic paint, envelopes, etc.
The mixed media collage has a skim coat of epoxy resin that was finished with a matte varnish for a look similar to encaustic.
canvas, acrylic, paint, resin, varnish, paper, maps, ephemera
