TWO HANGING OPTIONS:
HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL HANGING
4 LARGE-SIZED PAINTINGS AS QUADRIPTYCH

This quadrilogy is inspired by the sea as a never-ending melancholic, bittersweet but beautiful and poetical inspiration. Early in the morning – at noontime – in the evening hours – at night. Down by the sea, lights and colors, wind speed and directions are very different during the day and during the seasons. There are commonalities, but every phase stays independent und has its very own feelings. The sea was, is and always will be a major place of longing for humans. The numeration is almost limitless: brightness, the Azure and deep blue layers, summer (although I love the hibernal sea too), sand, waves, never-ending noises of breakers and sea gulls, salt in the mouth and at the skin. Wanderlust and downtime. It is the quiet life down by the oceanside. The sea deeply touches in its nativeness, autarchy, also destructiveness and its existence from the beginning to the end of all times. Every one of us ties his own stories with the sea. The quadriptych combines 4 pieces of my series of works with the title SUBZERO from aesthetic standpoints as well as with regard to contents and should "read" from left to right:

first twilight brightens the sky:
A LOVE SO DEEP THE OCEAN WOULD BE JEALOUS
acrylic and oil on canvas, 2019
59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 1,6 in / 150 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 cm

promising tenderness in the morning:
AS WIDE AND AS WAVERING AS THE OCEAN
acrylic and oil on canvas, 2019
59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 1,6 in / 150 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 cm

golden hours at noontime:
TIME GOES BY IN BEAUTY AND MELANCHOLIA
acrylic and oil on canvas, 2014
59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 1,6 in / 150 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 cm

before the nightfall:
LET THE OCEAN BRING ME BACK SOME MEMORIES OF YOU
acrylic and oil on canvas, 2019
59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 1,6 in / 150 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 cm

This quadriptych is a true VERY LARGE-SIZED QUADRILOGY and a contemporary STATEMENT-PIECE. For a large-scale, aesthetic and colourful impression on your wall AND as my authentic and personal artwork with an artistic subsurface message.

* * *

This quadriptych contains 4 single paintings, each in acrylic and oil on canvas and with dimensions of 59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 1,6 in / 150 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 cm. I prefer a hanging distance each of 7,9 in / 20 cm between the 4 single paintings. You have the option of two very different but impressive and beautiful hanging methods:

VERTICAL HANGING
- 2 paintings side by side in two lines on top of each other -
very creative and individual hanging method if your room offers enough ceiling height. The complete dimension (including the hanging space between the 2 paintings side by side and between the two lines on top of each other): 320 (h) x 260 (w) x 4 cm / 126 (h) x 102,4 (w) x 1,6 in

HORIZONTAL HANGING
- 4 paintings side by side in one line -
more traditional but also very beautiful hanging method of the quadriptych. The complete dimension (including the hanging space between the 4 paintings): 540 (w) x 150 (h) x 4 cm / 212,6 (w) x 59,1 (h) x 1,6 in

* * *

I use exclusively oil and acrylic colors, canvas and solid wooden frames in a professional museum quality. The three paintings wear my signature on the front and they are signed, entitled and dated on the backside. Deliberately the XL-sides/edges (1,6 in / 4 cm wide) are not part of the paintings and show the black painted canvas (beautiful contrast). The paintings are ready to hang (on the backsides: high-quality iron plates with metal inserts and nylon rope for gallery use), unframed and don’t need a frame or any additional surface treatment. All paintings have a single hanging (no backside connections between the paintings).

The artwork (4 paintings) will be safely shipped in a custom wooden crate. It will be accompanied by a cover letter and a certificate of authenticity. Please note: In context pictures are not necessarily to scale and are for illustrative purposes only. If you have any questions about this quadriptych or any other piece, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work.

Warm wishes,
Christian
