DEDICATED TO ELLEN - 2022 - mixed media with enamel and paint on canvas cm.100x75 - Abstract painting in a figurative context.
Here I take my inspiration from the photo of Ellen Von Unwerth, which I processed, an aggressive face illuminated by a faint candlelight resting on a book as if to imply human knowledge questioned by a mask.
We hide behind our own image, we use a mask to deceive, not only that, wearing a mask also means overcoming fear, estranging oneself from the real world, hiding and revealing oneself. The search for one's identity, which leads to true self-knowledge .
Cultural messages and symbols, to make us reflect. The conflict between being and appearing exemplified by the object of the mask. Authentic work executed by me in a single copy.
