Decapitated figure looks at mental illness in particular depression. The figure's body is strong and sturdy but trapped by it's surroundings. Filling the frame of the picture rigid but strong. This represents the isolation and static feeling of depression, when it feels it will never get better. The Head appears harrowed and skull like black contrasting the white of the figure. The figure has cut off his own head as this is the only way he feels he can cope by separating body and mind.
