This painting is called Dazzling Creature. It is a vibrant portrait painting of a lion. Although the background is very modern, vibrant and full of color, the lion itself is painted in black and white. By creating such contrast in colors, I hoped to bring an emphasis to the characteristics associated with the imagery of a lion in art - such as strength, justice, royalty and courage. I think most of us can appreciate and relate to these fine qualities.

This painting was painted with acrylic paints. The sides of the canvas are painted and it's ready to hang. I always use 1.5" thick gallery wrapped cotton canvas for its durability and its 3D effect. The canvas is stretched over high quality pine wood frames and stapled on the back providing a clean finish on the sides. Since the sides are painted, the painting can be left unframed for the contemporary look.
