Original artwork description:

“There is a kind of magicness about going far away and then coming back all changed.”
― Kate Douglas Wiggin

This striking painting features luscious layers of various blues; sage greens; black; gray; burnt sienna; white and metallic gold. There's sgriffto, dots, stripes, lines and drips scattered across the canvas with a shimmering sprinkle of metallic gold that gives this piece a mysterious glow as you pass by it.

"Day's End" is one of 30 paintings I created in January 2016 for a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, and blends well with almost any decor. It is painted black on the sides; signed front and back and wired so it's ready to hang. I've also sealed it with two coats of satin UV protective varnish.

The piece measures 36" x 24" on a gessoed 1.5" canvas and is made with top quality artist-grade materials. It will be shipped carefully wrapped and packed, ready-to-hang.

Materials used:

acrylic paints, gesso, graphite, metallics, satin varnish
