Dawn raising her lips to the crescent moon's pale kiss.
A feline fantasy in pastel, of Eos or Aurora, Goddess of the Dawn. She is wearing a transparent dress and fine sandals, surrounded by four cats, being kissed by a dream of a man; her real lover stands in a turquoise pool gazing at the scene.
The crescent moon and twin stars are low in the sky where the palest dawn light has not yet reached.
I have made the curve of the fantasy man's face mirror that of the moon.
Although the overall colours of the dawn are pale I have made the water, the grasses and the flowers in little bursts of strong vibrant colours; her hair is cradled in little bursts of colour.
This pastel was drawn shortly after I left London to live in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside; after living in a inner city for twenty years I was amazed at the open space, the dawn skies and the movement of the sun and moon throughout the year. At the time we did have four cats residing with us!
It is drawn in high quality pastel on TH Saunders textured 300 gsm paper with a deckled edge (see one of the photos).
Available unframed.
The pastel drawing will be wrapped in acid-free tissue, carefully packaged and sent along with a Certificate of Authenticity, by Tracked Delivery.
