An original Pencil Drawing depicting one of my musical heros and someone whom I have drawn more than any other individual. Born in Brixton in 1947 - he rose to fame as Ziggy Stardust and at the peak of fame he killed the alter ego and changed style and music - this was to set a trend throughout his life. David would go on to reinvent himself numerous times - always one step ahead of fashion he became an icon to generations and still hold enormous influence over those touched by his brilliance.
The drawing measures 40cm x 55cm - and took at 40 hours to complete. (I spent 15-20 hours on the hair alone!).
Following a 20 year Hiatus Paul picked up his pencils again and started drawing back in 2012. Turning professional in 2016 Paul has won accolades across the globe, initially exhibiting and selling work in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand he now resides in the centre for contemporary British Art and the Tate Modern Gallery, St. Ives, cornwall.
From his open studio and commercial gallery in the town he spends hours, weeks and months drawing incredibly detailed images inspired by the plethora of artists and art in the local area.
His work is on permanent display in the Stowe Gallery of St. Ives and with individual and corporate collections across the world.
The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - just send me a message to discuss.
*Images showing the drawing in a frame and in various room settings are for illustration purposes only.
