Original artwork description:
I love peonies and so enjoy painting them. These peonies were painted at the end of the peony season and I used the acidic green background to bring out the depth of colour in the flowers. This is painted on a linen canvas prepared with a colourless primer giving a natural base to the painting. I have used Michael Harding oil paints. The painting is currently unframed but I could organise framing if desired.
