Original artwork description:

A tree in the foreground leaning its energy in a mass of colour branches against a heavy dark sky ... across to the left a brighter horizon appears behind two trees standing together.
In the foreground brightly coloured grasses nestle in clumps of orange and blue ...

This was painted in early summer, after a few weeks of wonderful sunny weather, and suddenly there were a couple of days of heavy mist, cloud and rain.
It also coincided with general unrest in the country and indeed in the world over.
This and two others in the Dark Days series (Memory and Empathy, see adjacent listings), were created one after the other.

I've used quality watercolour and chalk pastels on grey Khadi paper.
This is a medium-weight (210gsm) handmade cotton Indian paper with a lovely deckled edge.
This can be made a feature of at the time of framing: ask your framer to place the painting in a box frame or to leave the edges visible with the mount/mat not quite touching the edges of the paper.
