Artwork description:

This etching has been engraved on the largest sheet of zinc I can fit on my press. I liked the idea of turning a small and delicate dandelion seed into something huge and monumental.

The image has been drawn directly onto a grounded zinc plate with an etching needle. After 12 minutes in the acid, the lines which have been exposed are etched and when ink is applied and wiped off, ink remains only in the grooves, creating the line. I have created subtle tone and light by either leaving ink on or polishing it off in areas.

The plate is inked and pulled through an etching press for every print, so each number in the small limited edition is unique.

Orders are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue, rolled into a thick-walled wide cylinder and dispatched signed and tracked within 4 days.
