Original artwork description:

I love to watch rough waves in winter, though I don't live that close to the sea, so tend not to get the opportunity. My son however, spent his university years in Cardiff, and he took the reference photograph for this painting along the Welsh coastline.

I chose to paint this scene, because of the light quality and movement in the water. It was fun to capture the turbulence and splash of the waves, with the back drop of a dramatic sky.
