Original artwork description:

This is the fifth painting in an unexpected series of bird paintings. Mystery is again at the core. In Japan the crane is one of the mystical or holy creatures and symbolizes good fortune and longevity because of its fabled life span of a thousand years. The crane is often featured on Japanese screens. This painting pays tribute to those screens, while the water is inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper. As always Bruce is asking the viewer to participate in developing the narrative.
