I was first drawn to this post because of the wonderful angles she's creating with her body, drawing the viewer in. I've tried to keep the texture of the background quite painterly, trying to highlight the process of painting alongside the process behind a ballet performance. This is a collaborative piece with the photographer Steven Lemke and will be one of a series on the dancer Clairese Mayo.
Painting is framed professionally in a 75mm Bronze Floral Embossed (high Pattern) wooden frame. It is quite a traditional, high quality frame.. It is framed without glass - which allows the oil paints to breathe and stay healthy.
