Original artwork description:

This is a one-off unique print. The Monoprint technique captures the movement of this ballet dancer beautifully. This begun as a a quick sketch - I was lucky enough to draw this Bern dancer during a photo shoot. Later in the studio, I rolled ink onto a sheet of metal and removed it quickly using a cloth, brushes and other mark-making tools. It was then handprinted using an etching press.

I love the painterly quality of this technique which allows me to be spontaneous and produce images with movement, atmosphere and light.
