Original artwork description:

These long stemmed daisies are one of my favourite wildflowers and I´m delighted to see them growing in my natural "wild" garden. The bright white of the flowers brings a sparkle to fields of long grass in late spring/early summer and, once picked, they keep well in a jug or vase. In order to leave the ones in my own garden for me to enjoy, I picked this bunch on the edge of a field near my home and took them back to the studio to do a lifelike study in watercolour. I like the unruly way the flowers grow on curvy stems in all directions - this is not a formal arrangement - these are genuinely "wild" flowers that will not be tamed! The yellows and greens are complimented by my porcelain jug with fruits depicted on it, evoking the atmosphere of a country farmhouse in summer.

“Daisies in a jug" is an original watercolour painting on Arches 300g rough watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints and is one of a series of my paintings depicting blossoms throughout the springtime. (See also “Hawthorn", "Hazel Catkins”,“Willow Catkins”, “Wood Anemones”, “Apple Blossom”, “A Splash of Yellow - Broom”, "Wisteria" and "Sunny Dandelions"). It comes with a white mount to fit a standard frame size of 50cm x 60cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
