This small painting is a celebration of how the vibrant yellow of these beautiful spring flowers can brighten up an otherwise grey day. I have emphasized this by making the sky dark behind the houses which are mostly in dark stone. I love the solidity of the old houses which faced out to the sea as I came across this scene while walking in the town of Troon on the west coast of Scotland.
This original watercolour painting was painted on 650g, 100% cotton rag, mould-made paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist
