This view depicts a solitary cyclist and his happy dog by a London canal side. There is heat in this work, an intense feeling of a London summer. Smells of tar and green algae, rubber and diesel, heady aftershave, lingering nicotine. The city rumbles and gurgles, voices echo on Victorian brick. The man and his dog and his bike. Saturday morning and the weekend is still to relish with strong coffee and friendship, chocolate cake eaten in trendy cafes of glass and wood. Later. Behind is the darkness of a tunnel. Joy, movement, freedom.
The canvas is 0.4 inches deep and can hang without the need for framing.
