Artwork description:

People, their shape, complexities, feelings, their skin ... the human body lies at the heart of my work. This work is part of an extensive exploration of the shape and feel of the bodies of the people in my life, a project entitled 'Curve'. My model for this work is the inspirational classical greek sculpture 'Venus de Milo' created over 21 centuries ago..

As glass has been my material of choice for many years, this painting re-creates my model as in a shattered glass world: she's become a mosaic of crushed glass. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This mixed-media work (it includes drawn, photographed, digitised and painted elements) exploits these characteristics: like all my Curve figures it seems fractured and broken, yet alive with colour and life.

It's one in a very limited edition of just five artworks, professionally printed on canvas, rolled, and sent in a tube ready stretching or framing.
