In this painting I tried to replicate the feeling of luxuriousness that I get when I look at works by artists like John Singer Sargent. I love the way he creates the billowing folds and ruching in fabrics. I wanted to create a sense of calm and relaxation and a sense of possibility with the light streaming through the window yet with nothing in view.
