Cuckoo Clock Chimes - original watercolour

The eternal charm of a wooden Swiss cuckoo clock! Who doesn't remember one of these in the home of their grandparents maybe and the thrill of waiting for the chimes and the fleeting appearance of the pop-out cuckoo!?

The gorgeously carved birds and leaves are complemented by those heavy pine cone textured weights. A unique and cultural icon to grace the lover of Switzerland's home.

This was a joy to paint and I dawdled over the detailed woodwork adding cool touches of blue and warm dabs of orange to contrast with the overall warm brown wooden tones. I felt it needed a soft blurry shadow to suggest it hanging on a wall.

I will package your original cuckoo clock painting very well for safety until it gets to you.
