Artwork description:

Like a take-off ramp, the A212 exits Croydon underpass, heading North on approach to Whitgift shopping centre. Croydon was London's main airport before flying bombs and rockets flattened the town in World War 2. Amid the high skyline of Croydon today stands Nestlé Tower, now being converted into 288 flats. If we have passed the height of office use then this development may point out the future of many towns and cities. Whatever heading the UK may take it seems certain that Croydon will continue to rise.

This is an original relief print pulled from an engraving cut in rubber in an edition of 10 prints only. Please feel free to contact me to put a question or make a remark.

Materials used:

Japanese Sunome Senka paper, oil-based printing ink
