Original artwork description:

Crow, a painting created as part of my "Tales Remain" exhibition and series of work, work created during the global pandemic of 2020-22. - that sounds historic doesn't it?

It was, though it still feels present and ominous.

Much like crows, who seem to feature so any times in folklore and mythology, I feel if this one had not been included the exhibition would not have been complete.

Crows sometimes appear as a method of divination and prophecy.
In some mythologies, crows are seen as a sign of bad things to come, but in others they are considered to be messengers from the gods.
Crows often appear as trickster characters in folklore and legend.
This particular crow was a helpful one, coming to me from The Snow Queen tale, but also coming to me in life, often times during the pandemic, as well as escaping into fairy tales, and paintings, I also spent a lot of time in my garden, which was frequented by many wood Pidgeon's, three magpies and a solitary crow.

This painting is 21x29.5cm painted on wood panel, the surface is smooth, I have worked here are many, many layers of paint and ink and varnish, the texture is tactile, with crackle effects and smooth finishes, you want to run your hands and your eyes over it!

This painting comes framed.
