Original artwork description:
I travelled widely across Ireland over the last number of years sketching and photographing places that interest me. This drawing is of my ascent to Croagh Patrick in county Mayo. It is a very well known mountain, but what I found interesting was the moment the fog started lifting and revealed the rest of the top. I kept thinking I am almost there. With the moving fog, the shape of the mountain kept changing and I wanted to capture the mountain in its almost entirety.
The drawing is a long portrait format at 35 x 17 cm. It is drawn with graphite pencils on paper.
