On an overcast day in Oahu, I became fascinated with the patterns made by the surf as it rolled in to Kailua Beach. I waded in to photograph it. With the hill in the background this scene suggests to me the elemental beauty of nature.

It is deeply troubling that climate change has led to rising sea levels that threatens Hawaii's beaches. Action on climate change must happen now or Hawaii will truly be a paradise lost.
